7 months on and I still have the scar on my knee (It was a very long slide down one of the top 100 climbs)! To be honest it was the impact to my shoulder that really kicked this off though. I knew my strength training was going to need to adapt while I recovered, and no cycling training app would take into account a change to my strength training because my shoulder hurt! I can't say just how amazed I am that we have built such a large, powerful and talented team just because I fell off my bike! I never expected to bring together some of the best developers I have worked with throughout my career, but I am really glad we have. And I certainly never expected all the marketing and social media expertise, industry contacts, interest from investors?and the sheer momentum we’ve gained in such a short time. I owe the team so much gratitude. We’re not just building another cycling training app. We’re creating a system that understands you as an athlete, as an individual holistically. Whether it’s adjusting strength training after an injury, spotting signs of overtraining, or intelligently balancing endurance with recovery, our approach is fundamentally different. I can’t wait to see where we take this next. If this is what we’ve accomplished in just seven months, the next year is going to be something special.

It's been a wild ride so far for Shapo! A lot of hard work, building up a show stopping team and learning along the way. This is what the last 7 months have looked like for us: August 2024 - A team member takes a tumble off their bike and busts their knee. Ouch! ?? September - MaiCoach is born! But… we go a little overboard with AI for design ?? - First social media posts go live… then poof! We decide to go stealth mode ?? October - Branding and UX experts jump in to give things a much-needed facelift ?? - First advisors join to level up cycling and strength coaching ?? November - Another engineer joins the crew! ?? - UX and branding get another round of fine-tuning. Sharper, cleaner, better ?? December - Engineer #3 joins the squad! ???? - Social media strategy gets a pro touch - no more AI chaos! ?? January 2025 - Chief Community Officer joins to rally the cycling community ?? - A new backer, big on running and cycling, hops on board to support the journey ?? - Yet another engineer joins. We’re stacking the dev squad! ?? - A yoga and physiotherapy expert arrives to keep athletes in peak form ??♀? February - After much debate (and chaos), we land on a new and improved name… SHAPO! A fun play on Chapeau - because cyclists get it ?? March - Two more engineers roll in, bringing the dev team to five. The dev squad is now a force! ?? - First sponsored race - all about getting those beta sign-ups! ?? April - BETA LAUNCH! The wait is over! ??
