Check out this hyperlapse capturing the successful completion of a major warehouse roof replacement in Somersby on the NSW Central Coast. This project involved the upgrade of the roof, warehouse lighting, and offices to support future growth. Key highlights included the installation of a 24,000m2 "roof-on-roof" system while allowing the warehouse to remain operational during the upgrade, efficient logistics and safety measures ensured seamless material deliveries and roof access, and the coordination of roof details to ensure the roof is weatherproof whilst ensuring compliance with BAL rating requirements. This upgrade will significantly boost operational efficiency and support the operational needs of the client. Kudos to the entire team for their hard work and dedication! ?? It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of one of SHAPE’s founders, Stephen McDonald, last week. ? Steve, fondly known as Macca or Big Ship, was one of those rare people who could light up any room with his warmth, energy, and presence. You’d always hear Macca before you’d see him, and when you did, you knew you were in for a great story. ? He was a mentor to many young SHAPIANS, supporting the careers of those who now hold senior roles at SHAPE or have gone on to build their own successful businesses. He spent time in every SHAPE office across the country, leaving behind an enduring legacy of working with a can-do attitude, while having fun in a high-performing environment. ? Steve will be greatly missed, but his impact on SHAPE and all of us who had the privilege to know him will never be forgotten. On behalf of the SHAPE family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Fran, June, Ange, and Matt during this difficult time. ??

Our SHAPE Melbourne Team has played a pivotal role in transforming Chadstone Place into an Australian-first net zero carbon certified A-grade office space for Vicinity Centres and their tenants Officeworks. This groundbreaking project sets a new benchmark for sustainable construction in the commercial sector! #SHAPEAustralia #SHAPEMelbourne #ZeroCarbon #Sustainability #LivingFuture
Take a sneak peek inside Chadstone Place, Australia’s first Zero Carbon certified building! ?? Powered by a 440kW solar array, with smart retrofitting, natural ventilation, and low-carbon materials, it’s setting a new standard for sustainable workplaces. Achieving Zero Carbon certification involves meeting rigorous requirements for both embodied and operational carbon, ensuring that every part of the building's lifecycle is considered. To achieve Zero Carbon Certification, a project must: ??Reduce embodied carbon by 20% through low-carbon materials and reusing in-situ materials ??Offset 100% of embodied carbon emissions ??Achieve best practice energy efficiency ??No Combustion ??Be 100% powered by renewable energy (on or off-site) and show performance over 12 months Chadstone Place's certification is a testament to innovation and commitment to reducing carbon emissions, setting a benchmark for future projects. Congratulations to Vicinity Centres and Officeworks for your incredible leadership! The project team included architects and interior designers Bates Smart, main contractor and project manager SHAPE Australia and building services engineer and ESD consultant ADP Consulting Pty Ltd. SHAPE Tasmania is excited to be partnering with The GO Company to roll out “Go Essential Kits” across all our Tasmanian sites now and in future. ? The GO Company was founded by two female Electricians in Tasmania who experienced first-hand the challenges of working in environments with inadequate hygiene facilities and created a solution to address this. Their mission is to enhance the well-being and working conditions of female workers, addressing the pressing need for hygiene and dignity in environments with limited restroom facilities. Check out more about their story via the link down below ??.
