Shadow Ridge Analytics Announces Newest Resource for Montana’s Critical Materials Economy Shadow Ridge Analytics (SRA) announced the launch of the Pioneer Materials Innovation Studio, a recently funded venture through the Small Business Administration (SBA) Regional Innovation Cluster program. The announcement is the latest milestone for the Montana-based innovation management firm and its technology-driven stakeholders. Pioneer Materials will serve as a startup studio and accelerator for critical and advanced materials innovations driven by the emerging advancements from Montana Technological University, Montana State University-Bozeman, and the Montana-based private sector. The venture’s core functions include ideation, where innovative concepts are refined and validated; co-founding, offering hands-on support and strategic guidance to early-stage ventures; and resource integration, delivering access to a network of seasoned mentors, operational expertise, and capital resources. By combining these key elements, Pioneer Materials empowers Montana companies to focus on growth and innovation while minimizing the challenges typically associated with launching a startup. “We’re beyond excited to continue our support for the Montana start-up economy. With this support from the SBA, we will be able to leverage our existing services and capabilities to better position Montana as a leader in the technology supply chain ecosystem. SRA has been and will continue to be a first mover for Montana start-up infrastructure, and we look forward to what the future holds for us,” quoted SRA CEO, Elle Gahl, CLP. The SBA’s Regional Innovation Cluster Initiative, established in 2010, fosters geographically concentrated clusters of interconnected business networks and institutions within specific industries. These clusters serve as resource hubs, providing businesses with networking opportunities and assistance in navigating funding, procurement, and industry-specific services. SRA now operates two Regional Innovation Cluster programs in Montana, Pioneer Materials for critical and advanced materials and the eidotech project for photonics, quantum, and remote sensing component technology.

Announcing the launch of the TECH INNOVATION CIRCLE! We know understanding, analyzing and engaging markets and emerging companies is critical to accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies. This is also of the key BARRIERS we have verified through Public Spend Forum's ongoing study on barriers. After months of discussion and collaboration, I'm excited to announce the launch of the TECH INNOVATION CIRCLE (TIC). TIC is intended to help us build the capacity for both understanding tech markets, companies and ecosystems (market intelligence!) and help us improve engagement between the public and private sectors. Shadow Ridge Analytics' newest employee, Miles Hogger, earned the top award at the 2024 MSU Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship $100K Venture Competition. Miles took first place with his company, Airspace, for pitching the Modular Vehicle Rack System, a modular rack platform that doesn't compromise truck bed space and utility. Congratulations, Miles!
