    ?? BREAKING NEWS: Federal Court Overturns 2024 Exempt Salary Rule ?? Big changes are underway for employers across the country! On November 15, 2024, a federal court in Texas ruled that the Department of Labor (DOL) exceeded its authority with the 2024 rule raising minimum salaries for exempt employees. What does this mean for your business? Here's the impact: ? July 1, 2024 Salary Increases: Now void. ? January 1, 2025 Planned Increases: Canceled. ? Automatic Salary Increases: Every-three-years adjustments? Also canceled. Revised Minimum Salary Requirements: Executive, Administrative, and Professional Employees: Now $35,568 annually ($684/week) instead of $844/week. Highly Compensated Employees: Minimum salary reverts to $107,432 annually, down from $132,964. What Should You Do Next? 1?? Review Payroll Changes: Consider reverting salary adjustments made in July 2024. Pause planned increases for January 2025. Note: Retroactive pay cuts are not allowed, and job classifications can’t be changed. 2?? Communicate Transparently: Inform employees of any adjustments promptly. Ensure compliance with state and local notice laws (details available on our platform). 3?? Support Employee Morale: Explain that changes result from federal decisions—not company policy.
