From the Desk of our Executive Director As Stillbirth Awareness Month comes to an end, my heart is heavy. Although I'm grateful for progress, we have a ways to go with dismantling stigma and the myths associated with pregnancy and infant loss. We at The Shades of Blue Project will continue to address this issue daily along with others nationwide. I will, in the midst of the sadness, lend you some of the Joy we experienced, surprising one of my good Sistar Tomeka Isaac with Jase's Journey. Together myself and members of my team joined Tomeka and others in completing a 5k in honor of her son, Jace, who was born still. And we also walked in honor of my baby girl Troya. These are the moments that even in the mist of sadness, I am motivated to keep pushing so that no one has to struggle after such a traumatic experience. To all the Mamas, Fathers, and Loved Ones out there who may read this, I'm sending you warm Big Hugs and remember to take this journey one day at a time. If you are looking for a resource to help navigate this topic we have created a simple guide for Mamas, Partners, Dads and Families to help you navigate this journey without feeling alone?????? https://lnkd.in/gpf2_PMs #HealingAfterLoss #TheConversationContinues #BlackMamasDoMatter
