Engineering a Fire Safe World

关于我们

The purpose of SFPE International is to advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, to maintain a high ethical standard among its members and to foster fire protection engineering education. The mission of the Chapter is to reinforce the Society's purpose here in Southern California. The Southern California Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers was founded on January 6, 1955. Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, except July and August. There is a gala holiday meeting held in December, and a golf outing held in the Spring. In addition to sponsoring regular tours to Southern California facilities that are of interest to the fire protection engineer, our Chapter organizes educational one-day Annual Symposium in the Fall.

  • As part of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, Southern California Chapter (SoCal SFPE), we are committed to supporting our local fire service partners and communities, especially during times of crisis. ? With the recent devastating wildfires affecting the Los Angeles area, our community has witnessed firsthand the tremendous challenges faced by our firefighters and first responders in protecting lives, property, and natural resources. As of January 15, Los Angeles County is facing multiple wildfires that have collectively burned over 40,000 acres, destroyed more than 12,000 structures, and tragically resulted in at least 24 fatalities as reported by CAL Fire. ? To help address these critical needs, SoCal SFPE is proud to announce the following donations: ·???????$2,500 to the?Team Rubicon, California Wildfire Fund Team Rubicon is a veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises. Your donations go directly to our Ready Reserve Fund, fueling impact before communities need our response. Team Rubicon is continuing to collaborate with local emergency managers and Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) partners to best serve those impacted by the multiple wildfires in Southern California. If you are interested in contributing or learning more, we encourage you to visit their website:?https://lnkd.in/gFXYjdaj ·???????$2,500 to the?Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Wildfire Emergency Fund The LAFD Foundation plays a pivotal role in supporting the department by providing funding for essential equipment, technology, and resources that are not covered by the city’s budget. During wildfire events, these contributions are particularly vital for acquiring items such as fire shelters, protective gear, hydration systems, and specialized tools used in combating fires and safeguarding impacted communities. If you are interested in contributing or learning more, we encourage you to visit their website:?https://supportlafd.org/ ? We extend this message not only to share our contribution but to encourage others within the SFPE network, our associated firms, companies, and organizations in California and beyond, to consider joining us in supporting this critical cause. Every contribution, no matter the size, has a meaningful impact during wildfire emergencies. ? We stand in solidarity with the Los Angeles community and all those affected by wildfires across the region. Let us continue to come together as fire protection professionals to make a difference when it is needed most. ? Thank you for your ongoing dedication to safety and resilience. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss further opportunities for donations or collaboration with our chapter. Sincerely, SoCal SFPE
