Excited to be working with Samet Corporation on such an important culture point in the City of Fayetteville, North Carolina! #bigpicturethinking
Since 1962, the Cape Fear Regional Theatre has been host to over 62,000 audience members a year, including nearly 22,000 students from around the region. They are a true gem in Fayetteville, with a facility that had changed much over time and given tirelessly of itself. It is with great pride and appreciation that the Samet Corporation has been selected to build its replacement. This gorgeous building, designed by SfL+a Architects, will add visual, usable height while creating dedicated classroom space, increasing the capacity and function of scenic and costume shops, and making dramatic improvements to the customer experience - including the creation of a dedicated 60+ space parking lot. A rooftop event space will create additional capacity for unique private events. This is going to be an absolute stunner. Standby. On Monday, February 3rd, SfL+a and Firstfloor had the honor of “passing the torch”. Jones County K-12 School opened in August of 2019. The project was an ambitious venture into utilizing Public-Private Partnership (P3) and a North Carolina General Assembly needs-based grant to deliver a state of the art facility to a county in need. This was only the second time this had EVER been done. Passing the torch to Jones County was pivotal, as it means that they now own the school! This Public-Private Partnership arrangement saves Jones County nearly $100 million over the lifespan of the building. We are so proud of all the diligent and dynamic people who made this possible.
