Every day of the year, we enable individuals to meet their basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. We transform lives using a holistic approach to understanding and addressing behavioral health, housing, and employment needs. We commit ourselves to helping those we serve achieve renewed lives of dignity and self-determination. St. Francis House is nonprofit and nonsectarian. Our mission and approach are simple: We believe in the worth of every human being, and we know from experience that when people have the right tools, change can happen. Big change. That’s why we provide our guests with everything they need to reclaim their dignity and rebuild their lives. We will ensure that we are doing the very best we can for those we serve by continuing to build a data-driven, outcomes-oriented culture that emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and growth. As we enter #NationalHungerandHomelessnessAwarenessWeek, we're honored to see our 41 LaGrange Street affordable housing initiative, in partnership with the Planning Office for Urban Affairs (POUA) featured on Boston.com. This project reflects our unwavering commitment to #rebuildinglives by providing 126 units of safe, permanent housing for those exiting homelessness and low & middle-income households. It was a pleasure to support St. Francis House with my colleagues from Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston at the organization's annual All the Way Home gala this past weekend! Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston was one of the sponsors of the event that raised a record-breaking $1,124,075 that will directly support the programs and services at St. Francis House helping individuals experiencing homelessness find pathways to stability. Located in downtown Boston, St. Francis House is the largest day shelter in Massachusetts, welcoming up to 600 individuals experiencing homelessness each day. The refuge, recovery, employment and housing services overlap and build on one another to provide guests with continuous and comprehensive support. My colleagues and I were also happy to congratulate and take a photo with this year's honoree Bill Mosakowski for the commitment he and his organization have demonstrated to St. Francis House since 1992. I've known Bill for nearly a decade through our involvement in supporting the Catholic Schools Foundation.
