The City's Community Soccer Club Since 1961

关于我们

With over 90 total teams and 1,100 youth and adult players, the San Francisco Glens are the largest and most diverse soccer club in The City. Founded in 1961, the Glens have established a pre-professional men’s team in USL League Two, a women’s team in the USL W League, and a comprehensive youth academy that includes a full pathway in MLS NEXT, the top youth league in America, right down to local micro soccer programs serving kids as young as Pre-K. Last year, the club announced the construction of a soccer-specific facility at Treasure Island with a targeted completion date by end of 2024. ? As a community-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Glens are proud to have never turned away a single player or family due to financial hardship thanks to internal fundraising efforts and a scholarship program that distributed over $280,000 last year alone. • The San Francisco Glens are officially joining the Girls Academy (GA), the highest level of girls’ youth soccer in the U.S.! This milestone provides San Francisco’s female athletes with a premier pathway to compete at the national level, develop under top-tier coaching, and gain exposure to college, national team, and pro scouts. “Joining Girls Academy is a significant milestone for the San Francisco Glens, reinforcing our dedication to expanding opportunities for female athletes in our club," said SF Glens Executive Director Mike McNeill. “The GA represents the highest standard of player development, competition, and player-first values, aligning perfectly with our mission. We are excited to provide our players with an elite pathway that not only fosters their growth on the field but also empowers them to have a voice in their journey. Reflecting on this landmark moment for the club, Jessica Hewins, Girls Director of Coaching at the SF Glens, expressed her thoughts: “The growth we've seen in such a short time has been remarkable. This success is a direct result of the hard work and dedication from our players, coaches, and the club in elevating the quality of our girls programming. We also want to acknowledge the invaluable support from our club parents, who have trusted us and been patient throughout our development.” Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/gn4Xfwpv For more details, visit https://lnkd.in/gm5fWYCA

Both players were vital to the Glens' attack during the 2024 season, helping the team secure third place in the USL League Two Nor Cal Division. With this milestone, they become the 32nd and 33rd Glens alumni from our USL League Two program to sign pro contracts since 2018. • An unforgettable 4-day coaching trip with inspiresport Global is in the books! Our staff had the incredible opportunity to travel to the UK to visit historic clubs like Blackburn Rovers, Bury FC, and Manchester City, tour the Premier League HQ, and experience the drama of a Manchester Derby. It was fantastic to reconnect with Mike Phelan Coaching, David Horrocks and Paul McGuinness, who shared valuable insights that will help us bring fresh ideas and strategies to our players at the Glens.

  • Yesterday, we stood with our friends at Bay FC as they took a major step toward building their state-of-the-art training facility on Treasure Island. SF Glens players and staff proudly represented at City Hall, with our young athletes lending their voices to advocate for the future of women’s soccer in the Bay Area. Their voices, alongside US Soccer Legend Brandi Chastain, echoed a shared commitment to creating opportunities and spaces where the game can thrive. We’re excited to see Treasure Island continue to grow into a vibrant hub for the sport we all love!
