This summer, Recology became the first U.S. waste and recycling company to pilot a hydrogen fuel cell-powered electric refuse truck! In partnership with New Way and Hyzon, Recology tested this cutting-edge technology on the streets of San Francisco (SF), leading efforts to reduce waste and use clean energy. ???? The hydrogen fuel cell-powered truck excelled on SF's hills, completing a full route without needing to refuel! Transitioning to zero-emission vehicles is crucial for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and addressing climate change. Tyrone Jue, Director of SF Environment, shared, "Addressing climate change requires us to look at the vehicles we rely on every day... Recology is helping us meet our aggressive greenhouse reduction goals with cleaner vehicles." ?? San Francisco Environment is committed to equitable, clean transportation for all.
