San Francisco Civic Music Association has a two-fold Mission. We provide a place for musicians of all skill levels and experiences to play together, and we provide free live concerts to the general community. What makes SF Civic Music unique? While there are several other community orchestras in the Bay Area, most of them require that musicians be able play at intermediate to advanced levels. Our ensembles offer an open and welcoming environment for “late learners” or people who may have put down their instruments for a period of time and wish to start playing again. We also have very experienced members who wish to keep up their advanced playing abilities and enjoy challenging themselves with new repertoire. SF Civic Music and our ensembles operate under the belief that great music can be created and enjoyed by the whole community.

The San Francisco Golden Gate Park Band announces auditions for the following??positions on April 21, 2024 Clarinet 4 Alto Saxophone 2 Trombone (principal) French horn 1 (principal) French horn 2 Trumpet 4 -1 year position, possibly permanent ? 2024 wages are $120.00 for Section musicians and $126.00 for Principal musicians. GGPB contributes 10% to AFM pension and all regular payroll requirements.? The Golden Gate Park Band is San Francisco’s oldest musical institution, providing free public concerts in Golden Gate Park since 1882. We perform a minimum of 24 concerts from April through October. Additional services may be offered.? GGPB recently incorporated as a musician lead 501(c)3 non-profit organization administered by a volunteer board of musicians and community members. Highly qualified applicants are invited to apply by submitting a 1 page résumé no later than April 7, 2024.??Verified eligibility for employment is required.
