After nearly 13 years of planning and fundraising by the West Michigan Horticultural Society, the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park opened in April 1995. As we celebrate SeyferthPR’s 40th anniversary, we’re highlighting our longstanding impact on the community, including memorable projects like managing the grand opening of this iconic West Michigan destination.

Jason has quickly become a leader in the West Michigan PR space and his knowledge of the practice is unbeatable. As a continued celebration of SeyferthPR’s 40th?anniversary, we are taking a look at the Princess Diana Exhibit that was displayed at the Grand Rapids Art Museum in 2010. As a part of the GRAM’s 100th?anniversary celebration, the museum brought an infamous collection of nearly 150 of Lady Di’s memories and memorabilia to our city for a limited 3 months! SeyferthPR had a hand in helping to set the event and create the buzz about the beautiful showcase.

With a strong 40-year history rooted in the Grand Rapids community, SeyferthPR has become synonymous with West Michigan. We are thrilled to congratulate our Chairman, Ginny Seyferth, and CEO & President, John Helmholdt, for being recognized among the 200 Most Influential Leaders by Crain's Grand Rapids Business. Both were honored for their leadership in Business Services. When asked for their best advice, Helmholdt shared, “Work smarter AND harder,” while Seyferth emphasized, “Don’t be afraid to fail!" Congratulations to John and Ginny on this amazing recognition, we are lucky to have such great leadership at our firm.

Happy Throwback Thursday! Today we are highlighting a project that our firm worked on just two years after SeyferthPR opened. In 1986, SPR supported the launch of X-Rite Inc into the public marketplace. This week, we’re taking a trip back to 2002, the year SeyferthPR played a key role in supporting the opening of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's office in Downtown Grand Rapids at 86 Monroe Center. In 1988, Grand Rapids marked a special milestone: The establishment of Broadway Grand Rapids. The organization’s inaugural show,?“South Pacific,”?starred the legendary Robert Goulet. The mission of Broadway Grand Rapids has always been to bring the best national touring productions to our city, and SeyferthPR is proud to have played a role in launching that debut! We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Kyle Moroney and Keegan Meicher to Assistant Vice President! Kyle and Keegan’s well-deserved promotions come as recognition of their dedication to the firm and continued commitment to delivering exceptional public relations services. Kyle, who joined SeyferthPR in 2016, has over 20 years of experience in journalism and public relations. She has provided strategic counsel, writing, media relations, and social media strategy to a diverse portfolio of clients. Keegan joined SeyferthPR in 2021 as an Assistant Account Executive and quickly rose to the role of Public Relations Manager. In her new position as Assistant Vice President, she will oversee strategic initiatives for major clients, including more than 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants across the Midwest. We are excited to see where these new roles will take these exemplary leaders. Congratulations Kyle and Keegan!

For this week’s Throwback Thursday, we’re looking back at a project we helped launch in 1990 —the MDOT Adopt-A-Highway program. This initiative was created to enhance the beauty of Michigan highways with the support of community members and businesses. Since the start of the program, more than 2,900 groups have cleaned more than 6,000 miles of highway. Wow!
