  • Most of us have a love/hate relationship with webinars and other online events. There are pros and cons, but how do you feel about them as a presenter? Yes, in person is easiest to engage with your audience since you're face-to-face without the distraction of everyone being just a click away from emails or social media. But, teaching or presenting on a topic online offers you the advantage of more attendees since no one had to travel for the event. It allows you and your audience more flexibility, which takes the strain off traditional event logistics. So, do you have a choice between the two as modern day educators and speakers? We'd love to hear your thoughts! . #events #learning #education

  • Don't miss this opportunity! ?? EMPLOYEE LEARNING WEEK 2024: INNOVATION 2.0 When: December 6 Time: 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM Location: Virtual - Zoom ?? REGISTER HERE: https://lnkd.in/gEErsqPC ATD’s Employee Learning Week 2024 is December 2-6th. To celebrate, SEWI-ATD is hosting a virtual showcase of innovation featuring some of our members. Each presentation is approximately 15 minutes followed by a Q&A. Johnson Financial Group's Values Program Presenter: Stephanie Charon, Learning Experience Specialist Johnson Financial Group re-defined their values at the beginning of the year as the 4 C's, Compassion, Customer, Consistency and Community. The goals were to make it simple for managers to facilitate team meetings, keep the message consistent, and create conversation within teams about the values. Stephanie used the Vyond platform to create short fun cartoons that virtually facilitated monthly meetings about each value. All managers had to do was to hit play/pause and keep the discussions moving. Feedback and participation were overwhelmingly positive. Employees liked the light-hearted approach and chance to discuss as a team. They are continuing to use this approach to get engagement around initiatives at JFG. Kohl's Workshop Builder Presenter: Matt Schmidt, Talent Development Designer Matt will show us how the Workshop Builder can be used to help you research faster, identify compound skills, source engaging and sticky content, and creatively frame workshops for any skill development. All you need to do is provide the topic prompt and Workshop Builder will help you identify the models, frameworks, and experts related to your topic. It will also help generate open-ended reflection and discussion questions, find the unconventional wisdom, urgency for why learners should care, explain how to overcome barriers for why they might not care, and more. Charter Manufacturing's On-the-Job Training Project Presenter: Mark Allen, SHRM-CP, Talent Development Manager This presentation will cover the journey and evolution of a successful on-the-job training project. Charter Manufacturing employees were engaged by digital training checklists and immersive experiences throughout the program. Mark will also demonstrate how he was also able to track training data with ease and how content developers used an AI tool to create standard operating procedures in half the time! 8:30 am - Program kickoff/networking 8:40 am - Johnson Financial Group's Values Program 9:00 am - Kohl's Workshop Builder 9:15 am - Charter Manufacturing's On-the-Job Training Project 9:30 am - Q&A 9:45 am - Wrap up #sewiatd #atd #talentdevelopment #learninganddevelopment #innovation #learningweek

  • What would you do if you had unlimited time to do it? I recently had dinner with a woman on her first week of retirement and asked her if she had plans to fill her newly open schedule. Her answer? Tap dancing! ?? She had danced all throughout her youth and tried to get back into it from time to time as she grew a very successful career, but there's just never enough time in the day. It got me thinking. We're all busy #talentdevelopment and #learninganddevelopment professionals trying to fit careers, families, friends, exercise, self-care, and #hobbies into our schedules, but I'm hoping we can try finding time for something we WANT to do amid all the things we MUST do. For my friend, it's tap dancing. For me, I think I'd like to learn how to swim better or maybe knit. ?? What about you? What's something you'd like to make time for to bring you some joy and peace? ?? Have a great week, everyone!

By 2025, 1.2 billion employees worldwide (50% of the world economy) will be affected by automation technologies and AI. (World Economic Forum, 2024) ?? By 2030 there will be a talent deficit of 85.2 million workers.?(The Korn-Ferry ‘Future of Work’ report) ?? 85% of the jobs that will exist in 2030 haven’t been invented yet.
