Earlier this week I kicked off a project preconstruction meeting at Chimney Rock State park in North Carolina. GHD and our design team that included myself initially and later the current PM Richard Alpert, P.E. designed a replacement #firealarm and emergency notification systems that is combined with a new building #firesuppression system to protect the museum store that is elevated on the mountain above a lower parking area and store. While I was there on Tuesday, August 13 I met with the state of North Carolina's representative, the general contractor their sub who happens to be a friend, Todd Stevens, CFPS, SET with Industrial Fire Protection (IFP). It is a unique project so ask any question you want to, you know you want to.
