Throughout March, Seven West Media has proudly celebrated International Women’s Month 2025 with inspiring events that amplify women's voices and drive change.? As the official Australian broadcast partner for UN Women Australia, we support gender equality and empowering women. This year's theme, "March Forward: For ALL Women and Girls,"?reflects our commitment to ongoing progress. Throughout March, our?7NEWS presenters hosted IWD events around the country, including Mel McLaughlin in Sydney, Melina Sarris in Melbourne, Tina Altieri in Perth and Tony Auden in Brisbane, bringing together industry leaders and changemakers to discuss the path forward for gender equality. We hosted a SWM School?featuring the iconic Marcia Hines and The Morning Show's Kylie Gillies, where Marcia talked about her childhood and career, who inspired her, how she got to where she is today. To support financial empowerment, we also ran a "Women and Super"?webinar for our teams nationwide, providing practical insights to help close the super gap. We are proud to stand alongside UN Women Australia in driving these important conversations and taking action for a more inclusive future. Seven’s stars step out at the NSW Seniors Festival. ? Some of the country’s most recognisable faces have stepped out in style to celebrate older Australians, at the NSW Seniors Festival The event is the largest celebration of people over 60 in the southern hemisphere, with over 500,000 people taking part. ? Attendees got the chance to meet the faces behind their favourite shows at the Seven booth -- including Sunrise, 7NEWS, and Better Homes and Gardens. ? 7NEWS Sydney’s Mark Ferguson and Angela Cox also hosted audience Q&As with Sunrise’s Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington, and the Morning Show’s Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies. The sessions gave attendees valuable insight into how the news gets to air every day. ? Yesterday Seven Network proudly hosted Media Pride's 2025 Mardi Gras celebration, the latest in a new series of Media Pride events designed to advance and promote diversity and inclusion within the Australian media sector. ? 7NEWS reporter Blake Johnson joined us fresh from a stint at Seven’s US Bureau to host a panel discussion with special guests: ? - Sydney Swans AFLW co-captain Chloe Molloy - Inclusion Strategist Hank Paul - Stan. Invisible Boys creator/director Nicholas Verso - 2023 Australian Idol winner Royston Sagigi-Baira ? The panel shared their personal experiences while discussing the impact of recent global events on LGBTQIA+ communities in Australia. They emphasised the importance of brands understanding the nuances of genuine inclusion and highlighted the crucial role all of us play in ensuring individuals feel loved, supported, and empowered to bring their whole selves to life. ?
