In this role, you will enhance the membership experience, ensuring that the needs of state education agency, affiliate, and corporate members are met while driving growth and retention. You will develop strategies to attract new members, maximize value, and create sustainable revenue streams that align with SETDA’s mission. As a key member of the leadership team, you will contribute to increasing membership revenue, optimizing dues structures, and introducing new programs. You will also cultivate partnerships with senior leaders across various sectors, playing a critical role in SETDA’s financial health and long-term sustainability. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of the K-12 market and education technology landscape, and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Proven experience in customer service is required, with a preference for those with experience in association or non-profit environments. This position is open until filled. ?? ???? The new school year is in session, and with it comes the latest edition of SETDA’s annual State EdTech Trends Report! Developed in collaboration with Whiteboard Advisors, this report provides valuable insights from our annual survey of state leaders on their edtech priorities. Not surprisingly, state leaders have a lot to say about topics like #AI ?? and #cybersecurity ??, which are two of the top edtech priorities in 2024. Following the release of the 2024 National Educational Technology Plan in January, this year’s report also highlights the steps states are taking to advance the Plan’s recommendations, particularly in inclusive design and #UDL ??. The report features a preface from Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (Washington State) Superintendent Chris Reykdal, noting that “Today, every successful state and district superintendent needs to be part Chief Technology Officer, considering the role of information and educational technology in every facet of their work.” Spotlights from Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Virginia, and Washington show the power of collaboration and what’s possible when state leaders support the effective use of edtech in their states. ??? We at SETDA are excited to announce the launch of our new initiative, the "Universal Connectivity Imperative," which builds on our previous reports focused on the current state of internet access in K-12 education. UCI will focus on three central goals: ?? Examine the latest research, data, and trends on the landscape of K-12 connectivity. ?? Identify promising strategies to bridge persistent K-12 digital inclusion gaps. ?? Recommend actions for federal policymakers and state education leaders to sustain the progress made since the Pandemic. Through this report, we aim to present a roadmap for policymakers, educational leaders, and stakeholders, offering evidence-based strategies and best practices to bridge the digital access divide and ensure all learners have equitable access to broadband connectivity. ?? SETDA commends the Federal Communications Commission decision to expand the E-Rate program to cover Wi-Fi hotspots. This practical update will help schools better address the persistent digital access divide impacting students across the nation. “This decision is another significant step towards modernizing our school systems,” said Julia Fallon, Executive Director of SETDA. “By ensuring students have access to reliable internet connectivity, we provide equitable, anytime/anywhere learning opportunities and connect them to their teachers and school community beyond the physical classroom walls.” ??
