#SeshAndFindOut: Show parents you care about their most important job and you show the future how work should be done.
Motherhood, Childcare, and Entrepreneurship: I don’t know about you all, but we just had spring break, and while we were lucky enough to travel to a beach destination, I (and I’m sure my husband) need a vacation from our vacation after traveling with two young kids to a different country. Cancelled flights, temper tantrums, sheer exhaustion, but also the sunny beach and a relaxing pool, so you take the good with the bad. My 6 year old’s school is still off today (why, oh why!?!), so while my husband took our youngest to school on the way to work, I’m with our older daughter while I have a ton of things to get back to for both my floral business and my upcoming beauty business. Nevertheless, I’ve got to keep going. I made my daughter a nice breakfast, let her watch some TV as a treat while I got ready for the day (workout clothes for later, and some light makeup for now), and went in to one of my fave places in Houston, Sesh Coworking . Sesh is also woman-owned and has a kids area where you can actually bring your children because hello, many of us entreprenuers and small business owners, and often times women, need childcare when we’re in a bind. My daughter has been playing by herself for a couple hours, and we got to have lunch in the communal kitchen together. They happened to have cookies in the reception area today, so she delightfully snagged one on the way in. I gave her a tour of mommy’s office, where mommy works. She got a kick out of the showers in the bathroom (a nice perk), and pictures of Simone Biles and Beyonce among others on the wall. Other women have smiled at her as she walks around in her flower leggings and rainbow sandals. I kind of can’t believe how quiet she is right now, thoroughly entertained by toys and her vivid imagination. It’s so important that we create these nonjudgmental areas for women and men when we’re in a bind. I wish more traditional offices had this for their staff, just for special circumstances. No judgment, just here’s a safe space for your kid near you because something came up our of your control. Has anyone ever worked at a place that had a play space or area for kids, even just for one-off things? Can you describe it, and what it felt like for you? What would it mean to you if your place of work did offer some sort of play area, just for maybe a couple hours or a day or something? Xo, Mo

Love it or Leave it, we’re diverse AF. We have used #HoustonIsDopeAF for years but I think it’s time we start saying Houston is Diverse AF?? As the most diverse city in the US, we need to be loud about it, especially now. https://seshcoworking.com/

You know what's great about our co-founder Maggie Segrich she keeps it real in IRL & her LinkedIn posts. We especially love when folks in the industry recognize that and celebrate!
Unseen hurdles. The (real) membership challenge. A coworking angel investor's post-exit check. A brand new meeting room rev/tech stack. And more. So so much more. Here's what you may have missed this week in coworking... (If you've been tagged - something you did or shared was mentioned in our weekly recap. Thanks for all you do for your communities!)

The summer of 2024 was a doozy! ???? Sesh wants to honor the perseverance of Houstonians NOT just in natural disasters, but especially during the month of Pride and the week of Juneteenth. The week of Juneteenth we'll be hosting Sesh Summer Camp. Complimentary coworking all that week, sans the day of Juneteenth as we'll closed honoring its legacy. Do you or your brand want an opportunity to get in front of those folks attending Sesh Summer Camp? Email us with your idea well detailed to [email protected] and we'll get to work organizing that!
