This week at NVIDIA GTC, we introduced our Map of the Molecular Universe with a search navigation tool powered by our battery-specific Large Language Model. Rather than manually searching through known molecules, now we can explore entirely new molecules. AI is revolutionizing the search and design of new molecules that will enable the next-generation lithium metal batteries (LMBs) to drive our energy future. In this session, we'll dive into our efforts and achievements in leveraging cutting-edge AI-techniques to rapidly explore molecular universe at magnitudes (10^11) beyond any scale ever attempted. Some of these molecules generated by AI techniques are already successfully synthesized and under test in electrochemical devices, demonstrating superior performances and revealing an encouraging future of AI-assisted materials design. This AI-driven materials discovery based on comprehensive mapping of molecular universe represents a breakthrough not only for energy storage technology, but in a broader sense for any industry sectors relying on organic materials, such as drug discovery, biomedicine, catalysts, or photo-/electro-chemicals. Electrolytes have been a barrier to improving modern battery technology, increasing the cost and limiting longevity of battery-powered technologies. In the last 30 years, the battery industry has explored 700 unique molecules, a mere fraction of the possible 100B small molecules. We wanted to accelerate the discovery for small molecules, increase battery life, and lower costs for EVs, UAM, Drones, Robotics and more.
