The Rooster Cafe and Barrie Vogel are recognized as champions of inclusion! We’re thrilled to celebrate two incredible honorees from ServiceNet at the 20th Annual Community Celebration of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Month, hosted by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Holyoke/Chicopee Area Office's Citizen Advisory Board. The Rooster Cafe team was recognized as Champions of Inclusivity for their dedication to creating an inclusive workplace and providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Barrie Vogel, a Relief Counselor Outreach staff member, was honored for her commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities in the community. The event, held at the Moose Family Center in Chicopee, brought together advocates, professionals, and community members to celebrate those making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. ServiceNet is proud to share that President and CEO Bruno Calouro and Vice President of Vocational Services Shawn Robinson received the Most Innovative Member Award at this winter’s MHCA conference in Clearwater, Florida, for their presentation, “Innovative Approach to Vocational Services.” Originally delivered at MHCA’s summer conference in Providence, their presentation showcased ServiceNet’s pioneering vocational programs, including Prospect Meadow Farm, Skillbuilders Makerspace+, and the Rooster Cafe. By emphasizing meaningful employment, community impact, and personal growth, these programs empower individuals to build independence through hands-on opportunities—using everything from shiitake mushrooms to 3D printers to foster success. ServiceNet's Enrichment Center members came together recently for a fun and relaxing Paint-N-Sip event! Each participant had their own canvas, easel, and paint palette to bring their artistic visions to life. We paired the creativity with delicious treats, including sparkling cider, a beautiful charcuterie spread, fresh fruits, veggies, and hearty grinder sandwiches! The event was a fantastic way to unwind, connect, and express creativity.
