"The best part of working with S2S was getting the direction and insight from someone who has already gone through the process and understands the unique background that Vets bring to the admission's process." - Gabriel Jones, The George Washington University Law School S2S Ambassadors are a guiding light for veterans pursuing any level of higher education ? https://lnkd.in/e6VjHXUN

"Peer-to-peer mentorship made it possible to begin with. I can't recommend it enough. This is a challenging and unintuitive process, and it can't be said enough the value of having someone who has been there and done that by your side." - Daniel MacMillan, University of Southern California 2026 Expert admissions support for veterans waits.. https://lnkd.in/e6VjHXUN

"S2S’s reach and network was fascinating. After I submitted the schools I was interested in, I was connected to a veteran mentor who had completed the application process just months ago - and the information I received prepared me, and helped me be successful during the application process, through interviews and ultimately secured me an opportunity to attend Notre Dame Mendoza!" - Kelvin White, University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business S2S is on your side to help Veterans apply to college or grad school with confidence ???? https://lnkd.in/e6VjHXUN

"Just to have someone in your corner and constantly bounce idea's off of was instrumental in building confidence in my preparation. To have that someone who's "been there, done that" able to provide guidance at a near moment's notice was critical when timelines were tight." - Bobby McCollum, University of Virginia Darden School of Business S2S Ambassadors have been in your shoes & are here to help fellow Veterans navigate the path to #AdmissionAccomplished https://lnkd.in/e6VjHXUN

Planning to apply to colleges this fall? Get a head start on the process without completely overwhelming yourself by setting easy goals for yourself to get the ball rolling. Familiarize Yourself with the Basics of the College Admissions Process - learn the basics, like general admission pools and deadlines, usual components of an application, and factors that are evaluated by colleges and universities in their admission decisions. It is also helpful to learn the difference between admissions rounds like Regular Decision vs Early Decision & Early Action. Set weekly or monthly improvement goals - if you don't contribute often in the classroom, set a goal to add to classroom discussions or ask a question at least 3x a week. Start small & continue grow as you reach your goals & push yourself to contribute deeper. Or if you're struggling with a skill or concept, set a goal to meet with your instructor each week then commit to practicing the concepts until you see improvement. Start or add to your resume - Colleges & universities will want to know what you've been up to & the ways you've been recognized, but after years of working & potentially taking classes, you may have forgotten some of the things you did. Start making a list of your experiences & awards with descriptions of each that you intend to include with your application. Don't worry about the format or formalizing it at this point, just use this time to get started. Start Researching Colleges - It's never too early to start looking at schools & making a list of what interests you. Find opportunities to gather information, whether that is exploring through a virtual tours online, attending an informational session, or participating in a virtual admissions fair. Make notes of your desired qualities in your college education & experience which will help guide you to develop a balanced college list. We are currently pairing applicants with Ambassadors for the upcoming admissions cycle. Sign up to be paired with a peer mentor: https://lnkd.in/e6VjHXUN

"I would advise future veteran applicants to reflect thoroughly on their professional and personal aspirations. Introspection will help identify which schools best suit one's goals. The time I invested in this reflective process illuminated my future goals and the programs to which I applied. It also helped me channel my passions into application essays, which allowed me to present my authentic self to admissions committees." - Rob Mayville, Harvard Kennedy School, 2025 S2S is here to help veterans share their story & gain admission to top programs! https://lnkd.in/e6VjHXUN
