?? I’m happy to share that I have obtained my LEGO? SERIOUS PLAY? (LSP) certification!? This dynamic, hands-on approach is designed to unlock creativity, enhance collaboration, and spark innovative problem-solving ?? Reflecting on my PhD workshops last year, I was inspired by how participants used Lego ? to develop ideas to mitigate flood risk using blue and green infrastructure. Their engagement, creativity, and positive feedback after the sessions was incredibly motivating and inspired me to take this journey further. I'm particularly excited to continue to apply this methodology to climate adaptation planning ?? In the face of today’s complex environmental challenges, LSP provides a powerful way to visualise ideas, explore scenarios, and co-create actionable solutions. I am also eager to use LSP within coaching and educational contexts ?? From facilitating conversations on sustainability and resilience to designing engaging learning and coaching experiences, I'm looking forward to putting these new skills to work. ?????Serious Play Business: Achievements are my Coping Strategies! ????? Yesterday a lovely industry colleague stated, '??Sofie??, you are a revelation and a true anomaly!' 2024 was an incredibly challenging year for me; due to circumstances out of my control my mental health took a significant dip. Despite this, I managed to complete my Life in the UK test in January 2024 and July 2024 I became a Brit ????. I also achieved a Level 2 in English in April 2024 and Maths in July 2024, and by the end of December 2024 I finished the Level 5 Coaching Apprenticeship I started in September 2023. My colleague said, 'It’s not normal to never go off sick and also do all these qualifications when going through a tough, painful time.' I accept it’s not completely ordinary… I feel this is a big part of my neurodivergence, autism, and PTSD. It’s how I cope: I try and achieve, accomplish, execute, fulfil, complete, succeed, finalise, and realise. I love certificates. Our service users too love certificates; their pride when receiving one is something I deeply resonate with, so perhaps it’s linked to needing validation, having a deep-rooted desire to feel accomplished and recognised. I embarked on this Lego Serious Play coaching training just prior to completing my Level 5 Coaching Apprenticeship, as I was genuinely worried I would miss the continuous sense of achievement the apprenticeship’s assignment-feedback gave me throughout 2024. However, I have started 2025 in a much happier place than a year ago. I feel quite ready to give myself a break and just enjoy my spare time, rather than spend every single minute in search of affirmation and validation through learning, reading, writing, and researching. Regardless of the decision to take it a fair bit easier, I still wanted to share this achievement with you all. Another string to my relatively new coaching bow. I’m very proud and I really enjoyed the learning process for this certification too. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn a unique coaching method. An autistic/ADHD person who took part in the team coaching assignment I had to record and submit as part of the certification process, stated he really enjoyed the session. It proves particularly beneficial for neurodivergent coachees in terms of helping them vocalise their ideas, it even gets the shy team-members talking. However, it can be used for varied coaching objectives. ??I can’t wait to continue to use the team coaching skills I have learned during this process.??
