Yesterday, we kicked off the 2024-25 Economic Development for Educators program, and I couldn’t be more excited about the start of this year’s class! This program brings together the Savannah Economic Development Authority, Savannah RISE, and the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System to better connect these talented educators with the many industrial companies finding success here in Chatham County. A special thank you goes out to my colleagues Jennifer M. Collins, Jesse Dillon, and Clyde Newton for their incredible support in making this session a success. I was honored to lead an engaging industry panel discussion with fantastic insights from Danielle Bond, SHRM-CP of DSC Savannah, Johnie Maybin of Seoyon E-Hwa Manufacturing Savannah, Dr. Chastity Williams-Lasley of JCB North America, Audrey Wilson of Outsource Logistics , and Leslie Thomas of International Paper. Their expertise brought invaluable perspectives to the conversation. We also had the opportunity to explore two outstanding facilities. Our first stop was at the Savannah Chatham Manufacturing Center, where Seoyon E-Hwa Manufacturing Savannah gave us an inside look, followed by a tour of Brasseler USA, hosted by the wonderful Beth Harn-Via. I’m looking forward to seeing how this year’s class builds on these experiences as we move forward!

Exciting Week at The University of Georgia We are so appreciative of the opportunity that we had to visit The University of Georgia, where our talented Mechanical Engineer, Karsten Smith, delivered an insightful presentation to one of the engineering classes there. Karsten shared his personal experiences at Seoyon E-Hwa Manufacturing Savannah, along with valuable information about our products and the injection molding process. His expertise and passion truly shone through, and we couldn't be prouder of his ability to engage and inform the next generation of engineers.
