关于我们
Mission - Seniors First enhances the quality of life of seniors by maintaining their independence and dignity. Seniors First targets services to highly vulnerable elderly populations age 60+ and disabled adults age 18-59, including the very old, people living alone, people below or near the poverty line, minority populations, and individuals with significant health conditions or mental impairments. The specific vulnerabilities include physical frailty, sensory decline, low education level, cognitive decline, lack of transportation, low social support and depression, which often require extensive intervention and advocacy. Central Florida seniors deserve our best efforts. Together we have the unique opportunity to enhance a senior’s quality of life by continuing to promote choice, independence, and positive aging. Our core programs are Nutrition Services, which include Meals On Wheels and Congregate Meals, supporting the nutritional needs of seniors and providing socialization opportunities. The Home Improvement program provides home repair and weatherization to low-income seniors. Other services include Guardianship for incapacitated adults, Transportation support for Congregate Meals, and Stepping Stone Medical Equipment Bank. Under the In-Home Care program, case managers assist clients with care plans which may include the following services: homemaker, personal care, companionship, respite, adult day care, emergency response, home modification/accessibility, medical supplies, and nutritional counseling. Our mission would never be accomplished without the support of our committed volunteers, the oversight and guidance given by the dedicated Board of Directors and the generosity of our funders, donors, staff, and caring community. We are also deeply grateful for the support we receive from local businesses, foundations and individual donors.

So honored to be among the recipients of the 2025 WESTGATE RESORTS FOUNDATION INC grantees. They donated 1 million dollars to a variety of community focused organizations and additional funds to Westgate team members. Their generous $15000 grant in support of our Stepping Stone Medical Equipment Bank will enable us to provide dozens of clients with the equipment they need to live the healthy, independent lives they so deserve. Thank you, Westgate. We are so grateful for your support. #makingadifference #havinganimpact #givingback

On this day we recognize and appreciate caregivers. Those unsung heroes. The ones that are always there. Today take a moment to think of ways to show your appreciation. Say thank you thoughtfully, write a short note telling them how much their help means, give them a break, if only for a short time and remind them to take care of themselves too! We promise, it will mean the world to them. #CaregiverAppreciation #makingadifference

We are honored to introduce you to Meals on Wheels client, Miss Dieudonne (which means Gift from God in French) and her daughter. Miss Dieudonne speaks English, French, Creole and Latin fluently and was a midwife for 35 years. Our volunteers had the privilege of being there yesterday to help celebrate her 105th birthday! To put 105 years of life in perspective, she was born the same year women won the right to vote, at that time, only half the homes in the US had electricity and the average household income was $3200. Happy birthday Miss Dieudonne. It was such an honor to celebrate with you! #MealsonWheelsAmerica #noseniorhungry #centenarian

Huge thanks to Windermere Preparatory School for writing 150 heartfelt Valentine's cards for our seniors as part of the WPS High School Day of Service program! ???Months from now, our volunteers will find these cards proudly displayed on a fridge or table near their favorite chair —reminders that they are loved and remembered. Thanks too to our board member Pam Lively and her granddaughter who attends WPS. ???#Gratitude #ValentinesForSeniors #Intergenerational #SeniorsFirst #ValentinesDay
