This Fourth of July, we honor the incredible legacy of Senior Neighbors' Twilight Shines 2010 Honoree Ralph Hauenstein, a true American hero dedicated to service and leadership. From his pivotal role as a U.S. Army colonel during WWII to his generous support for medical and educational programs in Grand Rapids, Hauenstein's impact is profound. ?? Praised by friends like President Gerald Ford and admired by many, including Bono of U2, who called him "a cool cat," Hauenstein's humility never overshadowed his contributions. His legacy lives on through the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies at Grand Valley State University and many other organizations in our community. Today, we celebrate and remember all veterans who have served our nation with courage and dedication. ????
