Safety First! ?? This week, our Des Moines office employees took part in fire extinguisher training, learning how to be prepared for any real-life fire emergencies that may occur. The day was filled with hands-on learning, including the exciting (and safe!) experience of putting out a small, controlled fire in our parking lot! Thank you to everyone who participated, and to the wonderful trainers!

We are proud to share that our Founder, Christopher J. Risewick, has been named a 2024 inductee to the Iowa Business Hall of Fame! ? The Iowa Business Hall of Fame was founded in 1975 to honor the achievements of Iowans who have made outstanding contributions to the development and enhancement of Iowa’s business climate. Chris founded Seneca Companies in 1972. At 21 years old and in his junior year at Drake University, he started selling petroleum equipment. By the early 1980s, Chris opened the first Seneca branch location in Bettendorf. Since then, we have grown to 14 physical office locations throughout the Midwest, Mountain and Southern regions, and have added several divisions to provide “The Complete Solution” to customers and to be self-sustainable in the market. Over the past 50 years, Chris has led Seneca to employ a peak of 450 people with the majority from Iowa. ? A leader in his community, Chris has been involved with ChildServe since the 1980s and has twice served as chair of its board of trustees. In 2023, he and his wife, Mary, received the “ChildServe Champions” award in recognition of their dedication and impact to the children and families. Chris also served on the board of Impact Iowa’s Heroes and has been involved with a variety of foundations around central Iowa. ?
