Proud to support this important legislation with Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul, which ensures that healthcare providers are reimbursed for telehealth and telemedicine services at the same rate as in-person care. This critical measure enables providers to continue offering these services, expanding access to care for patients across New Jersey. Telehealth and telemedicine have transformed healthcare by breaking down barriers, and this bill ensures these services remain sustainable and accessible.
Great news from #TeamMonmouth! On December 31, 2024, Governor Murphy signed into law our bill extending telehealth and telemedicine pay parity coverage through July 2026. Telehealth and telemedicine have become essential cornerstones of healthcare in recent years, breaking down barriers to care. We remain committed to ensuring healthcare is both accessible and affordable while ensuring physicians are fairly reimbursed for the care they provide. Thank you, New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), for the incredible honor of receiving the Troast Award today at your Public Policy Forum. It’s truly meaningful to be recognized by an organization that has been such a strong advocate for our local mom-and-pop shops and small businesses. Supporting small businesses in Monmouth County and across New Jersey is a cause close to my heart, as we continue to push for policies that uplift and benefit everyone in our community. I’m grateful for this partnership and look forward to continue working together with Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul to strengthen our business landscape. Thank you to Michele Siekerka, Esq., Christopher Emigholz, Raymond Cantor, and the NJBIA team for putting together a great program today. #TeamMonmouth #NJBIA #Businesses

I’m thrilled to share that on Monday, our bipartisan bill, A4174, passed the New Jersey Assembly! Proud to work alongside Assemblywoman Jessica Ramirez and Assemblywoman Heather Simmons to move this bill forward. At a time when personal privacy is increasingly at risk, A4174 closes a major loophole in our privacy laws. Just because someone consents to having a photo or video taken doesn’t mean they agree to its public sharing or distribution. This bill draws a clear line, protecting the integrity of consent every step of the way, and empowering New Jerseyans to stay in control of their own images. What’s Next? The bill must now make its way through the Senate. We are hopeful that with continued bipartisan support, we’ll soon see this essential protection signed into law! Thank you to everyone backing this important cause. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gR-ZtigV New Jersey Assembly Democratic Office #TeamMonmouth #Privacy #Consent #PersonalPrivacy #ClosingLoopholes

We are honored to share that our legislation to require Medicaid to reimburse mental health rehabilitation services provided through a Clubhouse program, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote social and economic connectivity for people with mental illness, passed through the Senate unanimously on Monday. Proud to work with my colleague, Senator Declan O'Scanlon, to move this critical bipartisan legislation forward and deliver results for Monmouth County, which is home to Shore House, the only accredited Clubhouse program in New Jersey which facilitated over 3,500 visits in 2022 alone. We look forward to the Assembly companion bill, sponsored by Team Monmouth's Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul, moving through the Assembly chamber. https://lnkd.in/eryn4g4s New Jersey Senate Democratic Office

Thank you to our Q&A moderators, LD11’s very own Superintendent Scott McCue (Eatontown) and Assistant Superintendent Rebecca Montgomery (Freehold Twp.). GOPAL, DONLON, PETERPAUL APPLAUD ATTORNEY GENERAL PLATKIN AND DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS ACTING DIRECTOR FAIS ON NEW RULES PROMOTING TRANSPARENCY IN PRESCRIPTION DRUG PRICING MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ - Senator Vin Gopal, Assemblywoman Margie Donlon, and Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul issued the following statement applauding Attorney General Platkin and the Division of Consumer Affairs Acting Director Cari Fais on their announcement of new rules promoting greater transparency in prescription drug pricing. Senator Gopal stated, “As a co-sponsor of the groundwork legislation for these new rules, I am thrilled to see Attorney General Platkin and Acting Director Fais taking significant steps to address the rising cost of prescription drugs. Transparency in drug pricing is critical to ensuring affordability for New Jerseyans, especially for our most vulnerable populations. We will continue to advocate for price transparency to support affordability and provide the necessary oversight to protect New Jerseyans from skyrocketing drug costs.” “For too long, New Jersey families have struggled with the unpredictability of prescription drug prices,” shared Assemblywoman Donlon, a practicing physician. “Affordability is often a barrier for patients in getting the care they desperately need. These new rules are a critical step forward in making the drug pricing process more transparent, helping consumers and lawmakers understand the costs behind medications.” Assemblywoman Peterpaul stated, “The rising cost of prescription drugs has been a major burden on our communities, especially for seniors and low-income families. By promoting transparency, we are providing much-needed relief and taking a stand against the unchecked price increases that have gone on for too long. I am proud to stand with my colleagues and support this initiative to get to the bottom of how we can help make drug prices more affordable for New Jersey residents.” Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul #TeamMonmouth New Jersey Attorney General's Office New Jersey Department of Community Affairs ### Senator Vin Gopal, a lifelong resident of Monmouth County elected in 2018, serves as Senate Majority Conference Leader and Chair of the Senate Education Committee.
