I’m thrilled to share that on Monday, our bipartisan bill, A4174, passed the New Jersey Assembly! Proud to work alongside Assemblywoman Jessica Ramirez and Assemblywoman Heather Simmons to move this bill forward. At a time when personal privacy is increasingly at risk, A4174 closes a major loophole in our privacy laws. Just because someone consents to having a photo or video taken doesn’t mean they agree to its public sharing or distribution. This bill draws a clear line, protecting the integrity of consent every step of the way, and empowering New Jerseyans to stay in control of their own images. What’s Next? The bill must now make its way through the Senate. We are hopeful that with continued bipartisan support, we’ll soon see this essential protection signed into law! We are honored to share that our legislation to require Medicaid to reimburse mental health rehabilitation services provided through a Clubhouse program, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote social and economic connectivity for people with mental illness, passed through the Senate unanimously on Monday. Proud to work with my colleague, Senator Declan O'Scanlon, to move this critical bipartisan legislation forward and deliver results for Monmouth County, which is home to Shore House, the only accredited Clubhouse program in New Jersey which facilitated over 3,500 visits in 2022 alone.
