Looking out for America's farmers and ranchers since 1825
关于我们
Since its creation, the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry has helped establish, guide, and examine agricultural policies here and abroad. It has had a hand in fashioning the research and teaching of the 1860’s, the price and income support controls of the 1930’s, and the international trade of the 1990’s. The committee has been active in times of prosperity and peace, as well as in times of depression and war. Chairman John Boozman (R-AR) is committed to following in the footsteps of the committee’s previous Republican leaders, carrying out the vital role of looking out for American agriculture by pursuing policy that supports our nation’s farmers, ranchers and rural communities. Follow along for updates.

Laura Boroughs Haffner joins her husband Ryan as fourth generation grain producers on their farm in northwest Kansas. The couple also own and operate High Plains Harvesting, a custom harvesting crew that travels from Texas to the Canadian border harvesting wheat and other grains. For 10 seasons, Laura has documented this work in All Aboard Wheat Harvest, a blog produced by the High Plains Journal. Laura appreciated the support she had from positive role models growing up and aims to pay that forward in the lives of the next generation of ag enthusiasts. She serves as a local 4-H leader and has coached youth sports. She is on the board of directors at Kansas Farm Bureau and leads the Women's Leadership Committee where the focus is promoting strong mental health in rural communities. She is also passionate about raising awareness of the needs of agriculture. As an ag advocate, she has traveled to our nation’s capital to speak to a bipartisan group of lawmakers on the crucial need for improving ag workforce policy. Central Iowan cattlewomen Lauren and Leah Mosher are a dynamic sister duo who have devoted their lives to agriculture. They grew up working in the industry on their family’s cattle and row crop operation, Mosher Angus Farm. As fifth-generation producers, Lauren and Leah pursued agriculture majors at Iowa State University. Lauren majored in agricultural communications and Leah in agriculture and rural policy studies. Throughout college, they both remained active in the family business— which included personally managing their own herds and taking on ownership opportunities. Today Lauren works in the Animal Industry Division at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship while also farming full-time with her family and in-laws in central and southeast Iowa. Leah also works at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and farms full-time with her family. She was recently accepted into the Iowa Cattlemen’s Leadership Program with the Iowa Cattlemen's Association and Iowa Beef Industry Council. She is excited for the opportunities ahead. Their dedication to the Angus breed and continuing their family’s legacy is evident—both sisters continue to run their own cow herds while balancing their ag careers. They firmly believe that to be active in the cattle business, it’s important to show up and be a leader when needed. Thank you Senator Joni Ernst for highlighting these fantastic #WomenInAg. #WomensHistoryMonth
