SELF (Solar and Energy Loan Fund) is very fortunate to have strong support from faith-based organizations from all across North America. And one key group, which pools their resources to help underserved communities, is called the Religious Communities Impact Fund, Inc. RCIF has been a longstanding supporter of #SELF, and they just sent out these heartwarming “prayer cards” so their Sisters all across America ???? could pray for the #SELF team and clients! Thank you #RCIF ?? Excited to share my new Urban Institute brief! Rebecca Marx and I explore key lessons from SELF (Solar and Energy Loan Fund) and its SAGE Homes program, exploring how CDFIs and green banks can step up—not just as lenders, but as true partners—to support developers bring affordable, green, and climate-resilient housing to communities that need it most. SELF is a first mover in green housing finance, blending innovative lending with developer capacity-building to bring climate-resilient affordable housing to communities. With wildfires, flooding, and extreme heat becoming a growing threat to housing, we need more lenders playing this kind of leadership role—helping developers build homes that are affordable, energy-efficient, and ready for what’s ahead. The Urban Institute released a new report showcasing SELF’s SAGE Homes Loan Program and the critical role CDFIs play in bringing affordable and climate-resilient housing to communities.? ? Especially in regions most vulnerable to natural disasters like hurricanes and extreme heat, housing, energy, and insurance costs are rising. The SAGE program supports small-midsize, often novice developers building more energy efficient and resilient housing, either through new construction or retrofitting existing housing.? ? SAGE offers flexible financing options and includes energy and resiliency features that enhance housing without adding cost burdens to developers or residents. ? Read the full report for an in-depth look at the program, case studies, and to learn how SELF is scaling SAGE to advance affordable and resilient housing in underserved communities.? ? https://lnkd.in/ghVemtnz Duanne Andrade T Brandon Cook Andrew Baldwin Jose Enrique Rodriguez Martinez Rebecca Marx Isabella Remor
