The panelists shared what kinds of employment opportunities are available for young professionals, what they’re looking for while hiring and how to stand out among applicants. We closed the session with an interactive Q/A from attendees. What a momentous year it's been! This past year we opened the German market by sending 20 leaders overseas to tell the story of our region. We also celebrated the arrival of the A’s in West Sacramento, delivering a generational opportunity to showcase our region’s ability to support multiple major-league teams. In March, the Brookings Institution released its 2024 Metro Monitor rankings, measuring dozens of metropolitan areas around the country on five broad categories. Our region ranked in the top 20 for all five categories – a sea change from the first Metro Monitor in 2017 when we ranked below average across the board. But the best is yet to come, Greater Sacramento! Over the next three years, GSEC will embark on an ambitious strategic plan to grow innovative industries, raise the region’s global reputation, increase flight connectivity and help create partnerships between companies and educational institutions.
