We celebrate Jerry Parsons retirement after an extraordinary 42-year career in IT with a mix of admiration and sadness. Over the years, Jerry has become an irreplaceable leader and a cherished friend. His career, which includes 39 years in leadership, has left an indelible mark on the industry. Jerry’s contributions, particularly in Health IT, span from field service break/fix support to senior leadership roles in project management, IT service management, and operations. His accomplishments include managing large IT service organizations, overseeing critical transitions, and driving innovation that benefits our customers. Notable milestones include the creation of the Dow Chemical Worldwide Help Desk, managing transitions for over 2,000 staff, and leading key health IT projects like DHMS. Jerry also helped guide the company to various quality certifications and was one of the first 113 to earn the Project Management Professional credential in 2008. Above all, Jerry’s legacy is defined by the profound impact of the relationships he built, particularly his mentorship, and the high standards he set for us all. His mentorship and high standards have not only shaped us into the professionals we are today but also set a benchmark for excellence in our industry. While his retirement is well-deserved, he will be deeply missed. The SeKON Family cannot thank you enough for your leadership, friendship, and inspiration. Your contributions have been more than invaluable; they have been the cornerstone of our success, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
