We had a great time partnering with American University School of International Service on this event! Thank you for this opportunity!
So grateful to Ambassador Julie Turner for joining American University School of International Service students and community this week for a conversation with Dr. Ji-Young Lee on North Korea: Security, Human Rights, and Shared Stories. It was so valuable to hear about the intricacies of her current work as the U.S. Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues, as well as her full 20-year journey with the U.S. Department of State as a Korean-American, and how she got started. We particularly appreciate her generosity in chatting with so many students and answering their thoughtful questions at the end of a morning event! Special thanks to our co-hosts Hanju Jung, MPA, PMP and Terrence Matsuo from The Sejong Society of Washington, D.C.; Soo Koo for her expert coordination from State; and Alice Peretti, Piper Campbell, Allison Johntry, Calvin Elison, Beth Hanak, Jonathan Skidmore, Gianell Lopez, David Fletcher, MBA, Olivia G. for all their support from SIS.
