Segue Legacy Charter High School, focuses on the following goals: Expand educational opportunity for youth from RI’s Urban Core (Central Falls, Providence, Pawtucket and Woonsocket), with a focus on increasing access to careers in the field of education. Address RI’s educator shortage, particularly the challenge of underrepresentation of (Black and Indigenous People of Color) BIPOC individuals in the teaching profession. Promote Educator Practice as an Act of Social Justice - This principle is a unique addition to our expansion efforts. We understand to increase students’ awareness of opportunities in the educational profession we must ground our work in addressing educational inequities and ensure that students are equipped with the tools to work towards a more just world.

It is always a treat to connect with like minded educators and community leaders at the Equity Institute meet up! Speakers shared inspiring, heartfelt stories that remind us of our calling into education. Very proud to share this evening with my College Unbound students (future educators); who were excited when I suggested having our Wednesday college class at the EI meet up. Learning, Leading with Love at Legacy! This week’s Spirit Week was a success as students and staff celebrated the last educational week before our winter break. And yes, today student and staff attendance was at 100%! ?Aprendiendo, Liderando con Amor en Legacy! We are proud of our learners and leaders who continue to redefine education and take the initiative in our school community. Our month long, year long celebration honors the lives and experiences of Black people. ?Es el Mes de la Historia Negra!
