A career in high finance enables an individual to learn from some of the most talented individuals & corporate changes and identify, as Courtney Leimkuhler says, where the "puck is going." In 2001, Courtney started her career at Goldman Sachs. She identified the opportunity that fintech presented and joined the NYSE where she helped architect and execute its transition from a non-profit mutual into one of the leading publicly traded exchange groups globally. Identifying the opportunity in insuretech, she joined Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker, and led its finance & strategy functions. Over the years, she has advised or supported fintech companies such as Newfront, CoverWallet, an Aon company, Betterment, and Orchard, to name a few. More recently, she identified a unique opportunity in the "gender-lens investing" space. At Springbank, she is investing in the earliest stages of companies building the infrastructure (career, care and consumer) for working families that positively impact women. They have raised $40mm from a diverse set of LPs including Bank of America, M&G plc, Union Square Ventures to name a few. Courtney uses her learnings of leading large companies to guide small companies to scale and grow. In the most recent episode of Women Who Build, Courtney discusses:? - Learnings from NYSE restructuring events.? - Resource allocation in large companies and tips for startups aiming for scale.?? - Demographics of the US and infrastructure needs of the same. - Investing in companies with the Government as a client. - Where are quality businesses getting built in AI? - And so much more!
