Our team recently joined Safari Doctors on a 10-anniversary community health outreach program across the islands and villages of Lamu County. ?? This incredible organization, led by the visionary Umra Omar, is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of marginalized communities in Lamu, Tana River, and Garissa counties. We witnessed firsthand the dedication and passion of the Safari Doctors team as they provided essential healthcare services, including family planning, child health, maternal health, and adolescent health. The organization's innovative approach, utilizing both modern technology and traditional methods, has made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals. By partnering with organizations like The FlipFlopi Project, Safari Doctors is able to reach remote and underserved communities and ensure that everyone has access to quality healthcare. Today, let's look back at last month’s site visit to the?Children's Dignity Forum (CDF) in Tanzania. ?? We are excited to work with them under the African Visionary Fellowship with Koshuma Mtengeti as a 2024 African Visionary Fellow. The team’s vision for their part of Africa is pretty simple: to be an agent of change in ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child marriage, teenage pregnancy and harmful practices that affect the well-being and dignity of girls and young women in Tanzania.
