This inaugural campaign kicked off at Rashid Petroleum Company’s (Rashpetco) site in Alexandria. Under the patronage of Eng. Yasseen Mohamed, EGAS’s Managing Director and CEO, and in collaboration with the Center of Excellence and Bureau Veritas Group (BV), this initiative is the first in a series aimed at monitoring and reducing methane emissions. The integration of drone technology represents a major leap forward, complementing earlier efforts that employed Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras across EGAS’s affiliated. These efforts are part of EGAS’s ongoing commitment to the Global Methane Pledge and the The Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC), emphasizing the reduction of methane emissions. They also align with the Ministry of Petroleum’s broader dedication to sustainability and Egypt’s vision for a clean energy future. This milestone demonstrates EGAS’s leadership in innovation and sustainability, paving the way for a greener energy sector.
