We’re paving the way for groundbreaking advancements that will transform patient care as the ???? healthcare market meets ???? vibrant startup scene - the first session of the Dangoor Health-Tech Academy started today! ?? The academy was initiated by The Dangoor Foundation in partnership with the UK-Israel Tech Hub at the British Embassy in Israel and is led by Ronit A., our Healthcare Innovation lead. Ben Myers, Deputy British Ambassador to Israel, said: “The collaboration between Israel and the UK in healthcare continues to strengthen. Initiatives like this one highlight how technology and innovation connect people, corporations and nations, driving growth and better services for the public”. In the week the UK government announced its multi-billion ￡ plan to strengthen the NHS, we are pleased to share that our years-long effort to connect Israeli tech and the British healthcare system has also taken a big leap forward.? The first-of-its-kind academy had its first session today. Nine startups were selected by six judges - three British and three Israelis, who sought the meticulous screening process. The participating startups are all advancing healthcare solutions by utilising AI, addressing issues in diagnostics, eating disorders, mental health, femtech, neuroscience, personalised treatments, and nutrition. Israel's health tech sector remained resilient in 2024, securing $1.2 billion in private funding despite ongoing global economic challenges. The Health Tech Top 100 map, compiled by Startup Nation Central’s Finder platform, underscores Israel’s key role in biopharma, digital health, and medical devices. While total funding decreased slightly from $1.6 billion in 2023, the sector saw a notable increase in the average deal size, which reached $4.6 million across 102 funding rounds—more than double the previous year’s median of $2.16 million.
