This Veterans Day, Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley honors all veterans and active service members. According to Point-In-Time estimates from the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development, 97% of veterans in the United States experience homelessness as individuals, and 30% of those individuals have experienced chronic patterns of homelessness. Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley is committed to helping individuals who are chronically homeless by developing a community of permanent housing with onsite supportive services. While we work towards building this community, we we are providing haircutting services to veterans and other homeless individuals. The next haircut day is at Hope's Corner in Mountain View, CA. WHAT A TRANSFORMATION! While we work to transform the living experience for our homeless nieghbors overall, and for those of us walking by them on the streets, we are even transforming our friends' lives one by one. This is Wayne after we hiked from St Louis to San Jose...before his haircut and ... after. Haircuts of Hope is provided to the community by Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley and partnership with Greatclips For Hair and other fine hair salons in the area.

While we work on our permanent housing development, we take care of our homeless friends with free haircuts. 787 of them as of last night. Miguel is one of our happy customers. Thank you Ruby for taking great care of him.

At Seeds of Hope, we believe that resolving homelessness will require a mosaic of solutions. That's why we were excited to watch the television program "60 Minutes" feature on ICON - a construction company that leverages 3D printing to build homes. Their unique approach to building significantly reduces the material and labor costs associated without jeopardizing quality. There are several of these 3D printed homes at Community!
