?? Taking Action for a Greener Future ?? At Republic Europe, we’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact. Last year, in partnership with Lowr, we engaged attendees at our annual Portfolio Awards to track their travel emissions through the Lowr platform. ?? Train travel was the most popular mode of transport ? 40% of car journeys were made using hybrid or electric vehicles ?? The longest journeys recorded were from Tallinn and Paris To offset the CO?e generated, we planted trees, making a tangible step towards a more sustainable future. This is just one example of how we’re incorporating sustainability into our events. We’re proud to work with innovative startups like Lowr, helping to create positive change.

?? Did you know you could take advantage of income tax relief and maximise your investments while supporting innovative startups? The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) offers a range of tax incentives designed to encourage private investment in high-growth companies. From 30% income tax relief to CGT exemptions, EIS could be a game-changer for investors. ?? But understanding the rules is crucial! Graeme Whitfield, Private Client Tax Director at KPMG, breaks down how EIS works, the tax reliefs available, and what investors need to know. ?? It was great to be involved in another fantastic CryptoMondays London event, with this month’s theme focused on Blockchain for Good. A big thank you to the CryptoMondays team for bringing us onboard as hosts and to everyone who came and joined us, despite the blustery, arctic conditions outside! ??
At ‘Building a Better World with Blockchain’ last night... ?? Brian talked about how the best way to change the world is to empower women and kids. By providing free courses for women and children in the Caribbean and Africa he and his team are encouraging upcoming generations to become more literate in web3. ?? Lavinia highlighted how crypto is a really great way not only to build your financial literacy and financial well-being, but also to take responsibility and ownership of how you develop your own personal financial economy. ?? Sean touched on the financial services side of crypto, mentioning how banks are lending less to SMEs than they were 10 years ago. But with blockchain we can address some of the banking inefficiencies by using the technology to open up access. ?? Mo called for a refocus on building and education, citing that within web3 there can be a solitary focus on ROI and making money rather than the creation of a sustainable ecosystem that makes a difference. (But if we can make a difference and make some money all the better.) ?? PLUS a whole lot more...If you missed it, you can find the stream on our YouTube here: https://lnkd.in/etrCx4np So thank you to our talented panel, Mohamed Ezeldin, Sean Kiernan, Lavinia D. Osbourne, Brian Sanya Mondoh for sharing your insights and expertise! Big s/o to Ade Molajo for moderating his first CML panel! ?? Thank you to all our sponsors! ICONOMI, CUDOS, Vault12, The Digital Commonwealth, Jade City, Semoto, Shine. To our principal sponsor Open Campus, extra xoxos for you! And to our venue hosts Republic, thank you so much for pulling through for us when we needed a space at the eleventh hour! ?? We hope it was a rainy, cold Monday evening well spent with like minds! Be sure to join us next month for the last CML of the year! Mark your calendars for Dec 9th ??? ! Team: Kaitlin Argeaux, Larry Trachtenberg, Camille Kelly, Oleg Giberstein, Rohith Biju, Androux Reabow, Zara Wehrung, Tu??e Düzen, Ade Molajo, Emma Mkrtchian, Matthew Burls, Gilles CORLIER, LL.M., Marcus Mattus, Nash Singh Uppal ??
