CONGRATULATIONS to our SMI TEAM! On Wednesday, February 19th, our SMI team was awarded the 2025 BAC Craft Award for Best Brick Project. SMI has started the process to demo masonry openings at Manko’s Des Moines fabrication facility.?SMI’s work scope includes demolition of load bearing and non-load bearing CMU walls.?SMI also took on the reshoring work, which included needle beams to support the remaining CMU above the new openings, as well as shoring the roof joists and structural steel members that remain in place during the retrofit.?The new openings will help free additional space and help with forklift flow for the fabrication facility. #BuildBetter
