Celebrating Women's History Month: Honoring Tricia Griffith This Women's History Month, we honor Tricia Griffith, a visionary leader in the insurance industry. Born in October 1964, Tricia became the first female President and CEO of The Progressive Corporation in 2016. Her leadership and dedication to diversity and inclusion have transformed Progressive into a more inclusive workplace. Tricia's journey from a Claims Representative to the top executive role is an inspiration to all aspiring leaders. She joined Progressive in 1988 and held several key leadership positions, including Chief Human Resources Officer, where she launched Progressive's first-ever diversity and inclusion program. Under her leadership, Progressive established the Progressive African American Network and LGBT Plus in 2007. In 2018, Tricia was the first woman to be named Fortune's Businessperson of the Year. She has also been recognized as one of the most powerful women in business, ranking 22nd on Fortune's list of Most Powerful Women in 2023. Her focus on people, not just profits, has led to significant growth and innovation within the company. What makes a roof resilient? ?? Members of our Claims, Product Development, and Underwriting teams explored this at the IBHS Disaster Dynamics Academy last week. Held at the IBHS Research Center in South Carolina, the two-day Roofing Roadmaps workshop brought together about 50 insurance professionals to examine how different roofing materials hold up against wind, hail, and natural weather conditions. ?? Our team attended expert-led classes and demonstrations, toured the impressive Hail Lab, Roof Farm, and Wind Tunnel, and engaged in valuable discussions about how research is shaping expectations for roof durability. Celebrating Women's History Month: Dame Inga Beale As we honor the incredible achievements of women throughout history, today, we spotlight Dame Inga Beale, a trailblazer in the world of business and finance. Dame Inga Beale made history as the first female CEO of Lloyd's of London, a position she held from 2013 to 2018. During her tenure, she led significant modernization efforts, transitioning the company from paper-based to digital systems and fostering a more inclusive and diverse workplace. Her leadership was instrumental in opening new markets and establishing the Lloyd's Innovation Lab. Beyond her professional achievements, Dame Inga has been a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion. She played a key role in launching Pride@Lloyds, an internal LGBT employee resource group, and has supported the LGBT Insurance Network. Her efforts earned her the top spot in the OUTstanding & FT Leading LGBT executive power list in 2015. In addition to her corporate roles, Dame Inga is a sought-after motivational speaker, sharing her insights on creating inclusive workplaces, modernizing traditions, and driving cultural change. Her speeches inspire audiences around the world to embrace diversity and strive for equality. In recognition of her contributions to the economy and her advocacy for equality, Dame Inga was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2017.
