I bet you’re making at least one of these mistakes… Some security decisions and compromises seem smart at the time but end up increasing risk instead of reducing it. You probably feel you’re saving time or money by following some of these ideas. Here are four common pitfalls that organizations make—and why they’re so dangerous: 1. “It’ll never happen to us.” This mindset is a ticking time bomb. No one expects an incident until it’s too late. Leaders need to prepare for when, not if. 2. “Let’s get the latest tech” Cameras and alarms are great tools, but they’re not the full solution. Without a strategy or risk assessment, even the best tech won’t protect you. 3. One-and-Done Security Risk management isn’t a box to check. Threats evolve, and your security strategy needs to evolve too. 4. Skipping Staff Training Your people are your first line of defense.
