SECU is proud to have supported Women Lead NC as a platinum sponsor! A group of SECU employees from across departments attended the event to learn, connect, and grow in their leadership journeys. Women Lead NC is a conference hosted by the NC Chamber that promotes the professional growth and well-being of women in NC. The event opened with a keynote address from women’s soccer legend Mia Hamm, who described her journey as a young soccer player who went on to become an NCAA, Olympics, and World Cup Champion — and how her experiences influence her today. Presenters included SECU’s Chief Administrative Officer, Sara Trexler, who shared her insights in a panel discussion on navigating the complex balance of advancing one’s career while managing family and self-care. With numerous interactive presentations on fostering advocacy, nurturing mentorship, and striking a work-life balance, our employees came away with moving messages of resilience, confidence, and courage that left a lasting impact. #WomenLeadNC
