Another day on the ground at HumanX and the biggest takeaway is: Leaders want answers to the AI ROI equation, and they showed up in droves to hear Greg Shove’s take. Here were the points that got the biggest murmurs and head nods at yesterday’s round table and panel: - Cost savings isn’t going to fly as the only AI success metric anymore. There’s a floor on what you can cut, but no ceiling on what you can gain. - The smaller picture is your key to CFO buy-in. You need to prove the impact of AI on a tiger team before you can get the budget to successfully scale. - The wins of your individual contributors will be easier to see – AI’s impact on your leadership team will be harder to measure but more closely tied to strategic business outcomes. Focus there. These convos don’t end today, by the way. Greg hosts free events almost weekly with heads of AI, tackling the same questions. Link in comments to see what’s coming up.

Yesterday Greg Shove, Edmundo Ortega, and Ashley Gross opened the HumanX conference with our exclusive AI Executive Leadership Workshop. Here’s what we heard on the ground from this packed room of AI leaders: - There’s an instinct to wait for AI to slow down before adopting it, because what you learn gets out of date fast. But AI shows no signs of slowing, so delay isn’t really an option. - Execs are concerned about training junior employees to exercise judgment with AI – since they won’t be doing the “grunt work” that would have helped them develop a high quality standard. - Enough about prompting. Leaders are ready to talk about more than one-off AI tasks, and get into the meat of AI augmented workflows and decision-making. - Getting ROI from AI is the priority. But most haven’t started down that path – they’re still trying to figure out adoption. If you’re in Vegas this week, hit us up. And if not, don’t miss our free virtual AI leadership workshop series happening on April 3rd. Link in comments to RSVP for you and your whole team.

Scott Galloway has made his POV on AI’s less savory side effects clear: We’re staring down the barrel of a loneliness epidemic and a world governed by predatory algorithms. Announcing the 2025 Lopez Fellowship - Applications open March 17th! I remember hitting that wall in my career where putting in more hours just wasn't cutting it anymore. I had been promoted, had recruiters calling occasionally, but what I lacked was the space to step back and intentionally design my path forward. What transformed my journey wasn't just working harder—it was finding mentors who believed in me, building a network of peers who challenged me, reading a lot, and investing in skills beyond my job description. (Including the mentor who suggested I take accent reduction classes—a story I told on How I Built This with Guy Raz). But I've noticed fewer professionals have access to this kind of guidance today, which is why five years ago I started the Lopez Fellowship. Our fellowship, underwritten entirely by the Hernan Lopez Family Foundation, helps ambitious, curious professionals overcome obstacles and go from 'good to great'. Through executive coaching, public speaking training, MBA-quality education, and meaningful connections, our Fellows develop the capabilities to transform their careers in the short, medium and long-term. What makes this program special? ? Personalized coaching with executive coach Cindy Shove ? Direct mentoring sessions with me and other industry leaders ? Public speaking training with John Koch ? Career assessment and LinkedIn review with Todd Gitlin ? Curated reading and MBA-quality courses through Section ? Access to our alumni network of nearly 30 accomplished professionals Who thrives in this program? ?? Rising stars of all backgrounds across tech, media, entertainment, healthcare, education, finance and other industries ?? Post-funding entrepreneurs looking to level up their leadership ?? In both cases, especially suited for individuals who've overcome adversity, have a track record of success and are passionate about growth. ?? Several qualifications apply (see website for details); most importantly, must be living and working currently in the US, have a bachelor's degree or higher, show proof of career progress How does it work? ?? Five months (May-September) of leadership development ?? Completely free (we just ask for your commitment of 3-4 hours weekly) ?? Primarily remote, with one in-person gathering in LA Applications for the 2025 cohort open?March 17th through April 6th Want to learn more? First Sam Altman says AGI is almost here … then he tells people to stop hyping it up.?The hardest thing about setting brand-safe AI strategies right now might just be parsing what’s true and what’s a PR stunt. So we're sitting down with Sayash Kapoor, co-author of AI Snake Oil, on March 27 from 3 - 4 pm ET to dismantle the AI hype. It's free to join - RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/gMtbGK83
