This week we commemorated the 23rd anniversary of the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001. Along with the bravery of many first responders from federal, state and local agencies, the United States Secret Service was also directly impacted during the rescue and recovery efforts. In response, USSSA established its 9/11 scholarship to support family members of those affected. To raise funds for the 9/11 scholarship and in commemoration of that day, the U.S. Secret Service Association is offering the 1865 / 9/11 quarter-zip jacket. This one-of-a-kind high-quality fleece jacket, pictured above, is embroidered with the 1865 shield logo, the American flag and the imperative to NEVER FORGET 09.11.01. Each jacket costs $125, which includes shipping, handling and the donation. The deadline for orders is Wednesday, September 25, with shipments going out in October. Statement from the United States Secret Service Association: The assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump has brought an intense focus on the U.S. Secret Service, its mission, and performance. Day in and day out, the protective mission is carried out in a cooperative effort with local, county, state, and other federal law enforcement assistance. This event will be examined in an internal review, as well as through an independent investigation. We support this effort and recognize that only through this kind of scrutiny can the Secret Service become even better at achieving its mission. Our Association stands with our members and colleagues. We remain confident and always 100 percent supportive of the men and women in the United States Secret Service.
