Looks like someone thought they could DRIVE OFF without permission- and our security officer, Dustin, put the BRAKES on their grand exit.???? ???? #SecurityWins #CaughtRedHanded #DriveSafeButNotAway #NotOnOurWatch Here's the story, "While working at a security detail after hours for a local car dealership, Officer Dustin noticed an unfamiliar female with no shoes on, taking keys and other items from the facility. When Officer Dustin questioned her, the female told him she was part of the cleaning crew that was currently on site. However, this did not sit well with Officer Dustin as the cleaning crew was already in another building at the dealership, and things seemed suspicious. So, he made his way to the building where the cleaning crew was busy at work in order to confirm that the female he saw was in fact with them. Unfortunately, they confirmed his suspicion- the female in question was indeed trespassing and attempting to steal a car! Officer Dustin sprinted back to the building where the female was first noticed and saw her getting into one of the dealership's vehicles to flee the lot. Knowing he had only moments to spare before she could get away, he promptly blocked the exit and called on duty law enforcement to take over. When they arrived, local law enforcement discovered many sets of dealership keys and other merchandise she had taken from the facility. Everything was returned, and the female was taken into custody." Let's hear it for Officer Dustin! Thank you for your quick decision making skills and diligent work. You truly are one of Seattle's "Finest!"

While traveling to Baltimore for work related training, our Director of Law Enforcement Services, Brian Burnett, had the distinct honor of being on an Alaska Airlines Honor Flight out of SeaTac. We wanted to share his thoughtful words about his experience. "Witnessing the ceremony and the immense respect given to our military veterans as they traveled to Washington, D.C. was truly moving. The pride of service in each veteran’s eyes was unmistakable. Everyone in the airport was captivated by the pomp and circumstance surrounding this significant flight. Having the opportunity to engage and listen to these veterans’ stories of personal sacrifice and war memories was immensely humbling. This experience has deeply solidified my pride in being an American as this reminded me of the deep sacrifices made by others in order that you and I can live in a land where we really do have freedoms. 50 veterans that included WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm. Many of them are in wheelchairs, walkers and with the support of prosthetic limbs. I talked with a grandson escorting his grandfather and a daughter escorting her 90 year old father. It was a time of honor and respect for all."

We love when football season starts up, because that means we get to help out with the security at all the UW games! This last game we scheduled 24 Off Duty Law Enforcement Officers to assist during the event, which is pretty typical for our scheduled game assignments. It's a pleasure being able to work along side UWPD and all the UW fans. GO DAWGS!
