Sounders FC was established in November 2007 as a MLS expansion team, making it the 15th team in the league. Fans chose the Sounders name through an online poll in 2008, making the Seattle Sounders FC the third Seattle soccer team to share the moniker.

Over 400 people joined us for the Rave Green Run, presented by Providence Swedish, supporting RAVE Foundation's mission to increase youth access to play across Washington State ? Hosted Sounders FC Fan Fest at the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse to celebrate our Alliance Members ? Raised over $1.2 million at RAVE Foundation's Born in '74 Gala, presented by Delta, supporting RAVE's 26 MORE Fields by 2026 initiative and increasing the commitment to a total of 52 mini-pitches ? Welcoming our littlest Sounders!????? Paul Rothrock, born at Swedish, visited the Swedish First Hill campus last week to meet newborn fans. He handed out special Sounders beanies and swaddles to celebrate Fan Appreciation Night. Every baby born at Providence Swedish last week received a limited edition Sounders beanie and swaddle – because it’s never too early to show Sounders pride!
Welcoming our littlest Seattle Sounders FC fans! Sounders FC forward Paul Rothrock visited the Swedish First Hill campus last week to meet our newest and littlest Sounders fans. Paul, who was born at Swedish, handed out team beanies and swaddles to the newborns. It was all part of celebrating Fan Appreciation Night and Providence Match Day on Sept. 28. Throughout last week, every baby born at #ProvidenceSwedish hospitals across the Puget Sound received a limited Sounders beanies hat - because you're never too young to show your Sounders FC pride.

Last match, we celebrated Latinx Heritage Month with a Pro Sports Career Panel! Sounders FC is committed to developing and cultivating a diverse pipeline of talent that is reflective of our community. Pro Sports Career Panels, a consistent element of our heritage month celebrations, provide students with visibility into careers in sports and connect them with Sounders staff with shared heritage. Our Latinx Heritage Month panel brought high school students from the Granger, Toppenish, and Tacoma communities to Lumen Field for a unique matchday experience complete with panel, eats from local Latinx-owned food trucks, and a Sounders FC win! Thanks to our incredible Sounders team members Eduardo Millán, Gisselle Pichardo, Rene Salda?a, Amber Soto, and Christian Vargas for sharing stories of their careers and cultures with the students!
