The ideal candidate will be collaborative while also self-directed, eager to identify opportunities for growth in revenue and membership, detail oriented and able to efficiently juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast environment. AIA Seattle + Seattle Design Festival are seeking a facilitator to guide a one-day board retreat in Seattle on Friday May 9th - Proposals due March 10. We are two nonprofit organizations working together who envision a culture of design that fosters equitable, resilient, thriving communities. The two boards of directors work under a shared vision alignment, hold joint meetings, and share the majority of board members serving both organizations. The boards and staff are actively seeking a facilitator who embodies the values of our organizations, with a desire to hire a facilitator from a community or background which has been underrepresented in design or facilitation spaces. The Seattle Design Festival is organized + produced by a committed group of volunteers — the Festival Planning Team! For 15 years, SDF has relied on volunteers to manage the Festival as a whole as well as produce specific components within it. Together, they develop our annual call for proposals to connect communities and unleash the design thinker in everyone to illuminate Seattle’s challenges and ignite action. The Call for Proposal will be launching in a few weeks - are you ready?

How will you engage with SDF'25? What does the selected theme, FEEDBACK, conjure up for you? Will you bring forward a Built Installation? a Pop-Up Experience? a Mainstage talk or performance? The Call for Proposals will launch in early April and will guide you through the proposal process. We’ll be in search of proposals that not only align with our goals, but also have the potential to unleash the design thinker in everyone, sparking meaningful change. Start brainstorming and stay tuned!
