  • As we continue to maintain and modernize Seattle’s transportation network, we’re moving forward with a new Transportation Funding Task Force. The task force will develop policy & funding recommendations for long-term transportation infrastructure needs, focusing primarily on bridges, pavement condition, & sidewalks. Its creation was identified in the new Seattle Transportation Levy, approved by Seattle voters last November. ? We’re seeking a consultant team to support task force members, facilitate meetings, and provide expertise into the development of recommendations for the Mayor & City Council. The task force will adjourn once its work is complete. This planning work aligns with the 20-year vision established in the Seattle Transportation Plan, which was unanimously adopted by the Seattle City Council in 2024. ? Come help keep Seattle moving!

In 2024 Seattle passed an eight-year $1.55 billion Transportation Levy to maintain and modernize the city’s transportation infrastructure including building sidewalks, paving streets, repairing bridges, and improving transit connections. That’s A LOT of work to do, and our talented teams are working hard to make it happen. SDOT is looking for talented, innovative, and collaborative people to help us deliver the projects and services our city needs to keep moving!?Are you ready to be a part of Seattle’s transportation transformation? It takes all sorts of people with a vast array of skills and experiences to deliver transportation infrastructure projects! This week I want to feature three job openings that work together, but from very different parts of our department. Our Senior Capital Projects Real Property Agent helps secure the real estate needed to build on.?That’s not all they do though…?They do a lot of research and negotiating and must bring a depth of knowledge of Federal, State and City laws and regulations around real estate and property relocation so projects can move forward. The Portfolio & Project Controls Manager supervises the shaping of our project monitoring and reporting processes and tools so we know where we are on each project and are able to report progress as we move through the very complex process of building large transportation projects for our city. Finally, we are looking for a Construction Engineering Supervisor to supervise the engineers and inspectors as our projects go from a blueprint to a completed bridge, bike lane, or new sidewalk in your neighborhood. This job is vital to ensuring that everything is done safely and completely so the project we are delivering is around for generations to come! SDOT is a team that comes together to build amazing projects that keep Seattle moving! If these jobs look interesting and you are ready to be a part of Seattle’s transportation transformation, you can find these, as well as many other opportunities, on our job site at https://lnkd.in/grr2xNFU.
