SEARCHING FOR GOLD SPOT is a film by wildlife biologist and filmmaker Maya Khosla about the amazing comeback of life in forests after wildfire. What a surprise! The film follows teams of scientists and firefighters through the Sierra Nevada, the Cascades Mountains and beyond. Many people believe that forests are destroyed after wildfire – so they are logged. The film will show hundreds of living, breathing reasons why post-fire forests need to be saved from logging. Rare black-backed woodpeckers, goshawks, deer, bears, butterflies, bugs – a high diversity of animals (and plants) thrive in burned forests.
