2025 SEAOC SE Pathways | Apply to Pathways The Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) SE Pathways Program was created to advance the practice of structural engineering in California by enhancing the pathway into and through the profession. This initiative focuses on the recruitment and retention of individuals belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented in the SE profession including, but not limited to, first-generation college students, women, Black/African American, Native/Indigenous American, Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islander, Asian, other people of color, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities. Structural engineering students and early-career professionals are able to participate in the Fourth SE Pathways Cohort kicking off at the 2025 SEAOC Convention in San Diego, CA, September 3-5. With activities during the convention and throughout the following year, the Pathways Program provides opportunities for aspiring or new engineers to network with colleagues and practicing professionals throughout the state of California; learn key issues impacting the SE profession, including the need to improve workforce equity and diversity; and meet trade representatives who may assist in future practice. Most importantly, cohort members will help shape the future of Structural Engineering in California. To learn more about the benefits of being part of the 2025 SE Pathways Cohort, visit https://buff.ly/48TZ4Uq and https://lnkd.in/gyyFCJ6q. Applications are due by March 30th. #structuralengineering #pathways #mentorship #engineering #seaocconvention2025

Did you know this week is Engineers Week? From February 16 to 22, we’re celebrating Engineers Week 2025, and this year’s theme, "Design Your Future," highlights the impact engineers have on shaping the world around us—past, present, and future. Structural engineers play a vital role in designing and safeguarding the built environment, ensuring that the structures we rely on every day are safe, resilient, and sustainable. From skyscrapers and bridges to seismic retrofits and historic preservation, our work directly supports communities by protecting lives and enhancing infrastructure. As we reflect on the contributions of engineers, let's also inspire the next generation to pursue careers in engineering. DiscoverE, the organization behind Engineers Week, offers free resources—including hands-on activities and lesson plans—to engage students in STEM. Visit https://lnkd.in/gyrSNYc to learn more. Join SEAOCC in celebrating the profession and the engineers who design our future! How are you recognizing Engineers Week? #EWeek2025 #DesignYourFuture #StructuralEngineering #SEAOCC

SEAOCC Welcomes Our New Treasurer! ?? We’re excited to introduce Kevin Logsdon, PE, SE, as SEAOCC’s new Treasurer! Kevin brings nine years of structural engineering experience and is currently a Structural Project Engineer at HGA. A proud CSU Chico Civil Engineering graduate with a Master’s in Structural Engineering from Stanford, he has been actively involved with SEAOCC, particularly in the Seismology Committee. Now, he’s looking forward to putting his Math minor to good use in this new role! When he’s not crunching numbers or tackling HCAI and DSA projects, you’ll likely find him restoring classic cars, modifying them, or finding any excuse to add a new tool to his collection. ???? Please join us in welcoming Kevin to the SEAOCC leadership team! ?? #SEAOCC #StructuralEngineering #Leadership #Welcome
